# For every film simulation 1. Noise reduction to the minimum (`-4`) to keep the grain, and let the Sharpeness setting do its work 2. Clarity set to `0`. If Clarity is different than 0, then it takes a second or two between 2 shots because of post-processing, in *Single Shot*. To mitigate that, you can shot in burst (*Continuous Low* or *Continuous High*) 3. I usually shoot between -1/3 and +2/3 **No film sim, for reference** ![[Fuji film simulation recipes_image_1.jpg]] # Film recipes - ## Fujicolor Superia 800 - *When I want to give moody vibes to my pics.* ![[Fuji film simulation recipes_image_2.jpg]] - Film simulation: `Classic Negative` - Dynamic range: `400` - Grain effect: `Strong Large` - Color chrome effect: `Strong` - Color chrome effect blue: `Weak` - White balance: `Daylight, Red +1, Blue -3` - Highlight: `-1` - Shadow: `+1` - Color: `-1` - Sharpness: `-1` - ## Reggie's Portra - *This one is my go-to / default film sim.* ![[Fuji film simulation recipes_image_3.jpg]] - Film simulation: `Classic Chrome` - Dynamic range: `Auto` - Grain effect: `Weak Small` - Color chrome effect: `Strong` - Color chrome effect blue: `Weak` - White balance: `Auto, Red +2, Blue -4` - Highlight: `-1` - Shadow: `-1` - Color: `+2` - Sharpness: `-2` - ## Kodak Tri-X 400 - *Of course I shoot black & white (sometimes).* ![[Fuji film simulation recipes_image_4.jpg]] - Film simulation: `Acros` - Dynamic range: `200` - Grain effect: `Strong Large` - Color chrome effect: `Strong` - Color chrome effect blue: `Off` - White balance: `Daylight, Red +9, Blue -9` - Highlight: `0` - Shadow: `+3` - Color: `NA` - Sharpness: `+1` - ## CineStill 400D - *This one is very situational, but works well during the golden hour.* ![[Fuji film simulation recipes_image_5.jpg]] - Film simulation: `Astia` - Dynamic range: `200` - Grain effect: `Strong Small` - Color chrome effect: `Strong` - Color chrome effect blue: `Strong` - White balance: `Fluorescent 1, Red -6, Blue -3` - Highlight: `+3` - Shadow: `+1` - Color: `+2` - Sharpness: `-2`
